Last GoodbyeI stood there, next to your bed, Praying to God that you weren't really dead. I sat next to you, and held your hand, Thoughts racing, hoping someday I would understand. Your hand was warm, your eyes closed tight, It wouldn't be long till you seen the light. I held in the tears, for as long as I could, Eventually they'd come out, I knew they would. We all stood around your bed and prayed, Thankful for all the precious memories you gave. I lost it when we said the Lord's Prayer, I somehow knew it, as clear as the air.
